NEW YORK —The Metropolitan Transportation Authority board approved a fare increase for New York City’s subways and buses. The increases will take effect March 1, reports The Associated Press.

The bus, subway and train fares taken together, along with increased fares on the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North commuter rail lines and cash tolls on major bridges and tunnels, will bring in an additional $450 million a year. To read the full story, click here.
