SALT LAKE CITY — With new increases taking effect on Monday, the Utah Transit Authority’s bus and train fares are now among the nation’s highest, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
Of 169 U.S. transit agencies that participated in a 2012 American Public Transportation Association survey, only five cities will have higher base fares for buses than UTA’s $2.50 fare — New York City; San Francisco; Nashville; Sugar Land, Texas; and Eden Prairie, Minn. — with another four systems matching it.
