S.F. Muni transit director wants travel times halved

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni) unveiled a strategy that would cut the travel times on some bus and rail routes in half, KCBS reported. The plan will address speeds, areas where buses back up and how to better connect with new job centers.

The plan is needed to accommodate the population growth that is expected in San Francisco over the next 20 to 30 years, with city officials estimating an extra 100,000 households and 190,000 jobs, an agency official told the paper. For the full story, click here.
