WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Eagle reported that Wichita Transit will be insolvent by 2015. The transit system’s financial problems originated in late 2011, when a rate increase significantly reduced ridership.

City finance officials told the paper that the city of Wichita has committed a little more than $1.8 million to the transit system through early 2015. For the full story, click here.
