NYC transit hubs flooded with lost items

NEW YORK CITY — The holidays, when people are rushed and forgetful, are the busiest time of year for New York transit officials who collect and catalog thousands of items lost on commuter trains, subways and buses throughout the year.

Of the more than 50,000 items lost throughout the year, the typical include wallets, handbags, eyeglasses and smartphones, but sometimes oddities like a pet bunny rabbit, a prosthetic leg, a car bumper and a tuba have turned up, according to an AP report.
