Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) Group 24 retained its contract with First Transit.

First Transit will continue to operate more than 115 buses and manage more than 350 dedicated transit employees for the fixed route services for Denver RTD Group 24. The contract has been retained for an additional three years plus two option years.

“First Transit’s partnership with the Denver RTD dates back to 1989 and we are excited to continue operating Group 24 for another five years,” Beverly Edwards, sr. VP at First Transit, said.

Gary Forbes will continue to serve as the GM for Denver RTD, utilizing his 24 years of experience managing all aspects of public transportation systems. He has a very strong background in various areas of management in a variety of transportation settings, which include operations, vehicle maintenance, planning, route development, budgeting, union negotiations, safety and training.
