Nova Bus secured a $32.6 million order for 55 buses by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), the largest transit authority in Canada.

The TTC evaluation criteria for the purchase included a proven vehicle with a long history of reliability and a mandatory requirement for a stainless steel structure, which are distinctive features of Nova Bus.

TTC’s vehicles will also include a specially designed driver’s barrier. This safety feature heavy duty design is made from sturdy steel and includes an upper glazing section made of tempered glass.

Delivery of the first of the 40-foot diesel buses, including a pilot bus, will begin in 2015.
