Garden City, N.Y.-based Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE), operated by Transdev Services, awarded New Flyer a contract for up to 110 heavy-duty, 40-foot Xcelsior® compressed natural gas (CNG) powered buses.

The contract for 110 XN40 buses contains a firm order for 52 buses with options for an additional 58 buses and is valued at approximately $53 million dollars.

"Sustainability is a top priority for NICE and their purchase of New Flyer CNG buses reflects their commitment to minimize environmental impact", said New Flyer's President/CEO Paul Soubry. "We are very pleased to partner with NICE in their sustainability efforts. This is a transit company that walks the talk, by taking great strides to continue to offer environmentally conscious transit solutions."
