MISSOULA, Mont. — Mountain Line's decision to cut fares to nothing earlier this year continues to boost ridership, with the transit system reporting a 9th straight month of record ridership, reported KPAX.com.
Mountain Line administrators decided last winter to enact a "zero fare" demonstration project for the next three years, eliminating fares entirely in January, the report said.
The latest statistics for September show Mountain Line provided over 110,000 rides in September, a 43% increase over last year. Overall, cumulative ridership is up 36% since January, according to KPAX.com. For the full story, click here.
