ElDorado continues to grow after 4 decades

Posted on June 2, 2016

Salina, Kan.-based ElDorado, a member of REV Group (REV) maintains its momentum with 37 years of history by filing several orders for agencies including N.Y.’s Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority, Chicago’s PACE and San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System.

“We keep in touch with the foundation of our company; always remembering why we are here; to build a quality product in a safe way — connecting and protecting.” said ElDorado VP/GM Colby Bertrand. “We recently celebrated several 30 year anniversaries with our employees, so these people are highly experienced and take a lot of pride in what they are building. When you combine safety, quality, and experience — you can’t go wrong.”

Other ElDorado customers include the U.S. Federal Government, the State of Iowa, and the Illinois Department of Transportation, as well as Marriott, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alamo Rent a Car and Hilton Hotels and Resorts.

ElDorado is the flagship not only in the REV family of bus products but also in the bus industry due to its unique honeycomb composite fiberglass body. ElDorado is now in the best position in its long history; backed by its more than $2 billion strong parent company.

“Transit agencies have always turned to ElDorado for reliability and longevity” David Schetky, sales manager at one of the nation’s largest bus dealers — Schetky Northwest said. “We have seen a trend with dealers trying to sell transit agencies lower quality buses strictly to be low cost in a bid situation. This is a disservice. Customers in-the-know recognize that there is more than just initial cost. An ElDorado will provide the lowest cost of ownership for the entire life of a bus. ElDorado revolutionized bus construction 37 years ago, and Schetky Northwest is excited about what’s next.”

ElDorado and Salina have other exciting news on the horizon.

“With the strength and success of the ElDorado and ElDorado Mobility brands being built in Salina, we are excited to announce that a new and innovative product will also be built in Salina. This location has the capacity and the know-how to kick off this new product and we know it will be a great success for REV and for the people of Salina.” said REV Bus Group President John Walsh. This new product will have several models that are built in REV’s Salina and South Hutchinson manufacturing plants and will be available for order beginning early summer.
