BusCon, North America’s “Biggest Bus Show,” announced today that, for the first time at any trade show, Motor Coach Industries (MCI) and New Flyer will exhibit side-by-side in the same booth at BusCon 2016, which will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis Sept. 19 to 21, 2016.

The shared booth space will provide attendees the opportunity to see both a 2017 MCI J4500 — the industry’s best-selling private-sector coach, featuring clean-diesel technology — and New Flyer’s MiDi® — a medium-sized, multipurpose low-floor bus ideal for all types of service, including shuttles.

“We are thrilled to have both New Flyer and MCI exhibit together at this year’s event,” said James Blue, GM, BusCon. “This is what BusCon is really about, providing both public and private sector operators the opportunity to keep up to date with the latest vehicles and technologies as well as a platform to build relationships.”

New Flyer, which acquired MCI on Dec. 18, 2015, is now the largest bus and motorcoach manufacturer in North America.

Expanding his role as the President and CEO of New Flyer, and now MCI, Paul Soubry pointed out that MCI has a permanent home with New Flyer. Together, the companies are a family of nearly 5,000 team members supporting customers operating over 42,000 transit buses and 28,000 motorcoaches in the U.S. and Canada.

New Flyer’s low-floor transit buses, including its multipurpose, medium-sized MiDi, fit with MCI public commuter and private sector leadership positions, and both New Flyer and MCI have a philosophy based on reliability of product, service and support. The companies also offer the most comprehensive aftermarket parts organization, providing support for all types of transit buses and motorcoaches from parts to service and repair.

BusCon 2016 returns to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis Sept. 19-21. Registration for BusCon 2016 is now open at http://www.busconexpo.com/Default.aspx. Register by August 19 for a free Exhibits Only pass or a discounted Full Conference Pass.
