EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — This summer, Eau Claire Transit bus patrons will be able to access and read books during their rides and can take them home as part of a new plan designed to put books into the hands of children and adults, the Leader-Telegram reported.

As part of the Books on Buses effort by a local library, books will be placed on specialized shelves to be installed on each of the ECT’s 22 buses, the report said.

The city will partner with a community career development center to build the bookshelves, expected to cost about $2,500, the Leader-Telegram reported.
