Chicago RTA receives $800K for asset management

The grant will allow the RTA to develop a tool that will utilize its newly developed assessment and inventory of the region's transportation assets, including infrastructure and equipment, to prioritize future expenditures, to best achieve a State of Good Repair for transportation assets over the next 10 years.

Free transit rides end for Chicago seniors

Chicago Transit Authority, Metra and Pace Bus will only continue to offer free rides to low-income seniors. Other seniors are still eligible for discounted fares. Agencies have stationed personnel at some stations to help seniors adjust to the change.

The two-dimensional barcode, made of small black squares and rectangles, is arranged in a square on a white background that typically leads to text, a URL or other information. In RTA's case, QR codes lead to a specific map and/or route information.

Las Vegas previews 2 new BRT routes

The new Henderson & Downtown Express route and the Boulder Highway Express route were funded in part by ARRA and will provide faster service and enhanced connectivity throughout Southern Nevada. Both routes are scheduled to begin service on Sept. 18.
