Mich. seniors lose transit service

MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Muskegon City Commission voted to end its senior transit program on Dec. 31 due to city general fund deficits and a reduction in federal block grant funding, mLive reported.

The city had already extended the program by six months. The commission also put a property tax on the Nov. 6 ballot to support the continuation of the program with the dedicated revenue. Voters approved the first of two ballot proposals needed for the funding, but not the second. For the full story, click here.
