N.M. disabled find fault with paratransit

SANTA FE, N.M. — At a recent meeting held by the Santa Fe Transit Advisory Board, Santa Fe Ride customers complained that the transit program is mismanaged, and forces unreasonable restrictions and rules on its riders, Santa Fe New Mexican reported. Attendees also asked about training for drivers on working with disabled clients.

Officials told the paper that program restrictions over the last decade have reduced annual ridership from about 97,000 in 2001 to about 36,000 in 2011, while keeping the annual budget flat. For the full story, click here.
