N.Y. paratransit replacing minibuses

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Rockland County is planning to replace its oldest TRIPS minibuses that serve the elderly and disabled with smaller vans to save money and adapt to changing needs, lohud.com reported.

The county’s Department of Public Transportation has approximately $770,000 in federal and state funds to buy five new minibuses and 10 new vans to update its fleet of 25 buses this year. The Federal Transit Administration is providing 80%, or $616,000, of that funding. For the full story, click here.
