Report: Sound Transit overpaid security firm

SEATTLE — A state auditor found that Sound Transit overpaid its security firm $349,632 over a four-and-a-half-year period, The Seattle Times reported. A report stated that an untrained employee and overly complex accounting systems were to blame for the payment mistakes.

The report also stated that the agency paid $17,081,913 to the King County Sheriff's Office without reviewing paperwork. A transit official told the Times that the expenses were justified. For the full story, click here.
