Calif. VTA’s rail layover track plan raises concerns

SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) proposed a light rail layover track inside or next to a park in downtown San Jose. Critics said parked trains would increase noise and congestion, as well as cause safety concerns in the historic area, reports Mercury News.

The current master plan for St. James Park states that views must remain unobstructed. The VTA proposal would violate that plan, according to officials. To read the full story, click here.
