Mich. light rail may get $25M in funds

DETROIT — U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Gov. Rick Snyder are expected to announce Friday morning at Wayne State University about $25 million in federal funding for the M-1 light rail streetcar, according to The Detroit News.

Last month, the Michigan legislature established a regional transit authority for Metro Detroit, in response to LaHood’s requiring one before he would release funding for M-1. For the full story, click here.
