Alstom inaugurates new Canadian manufacturing plant

Built to serve Alstom’s needs in the context of an approximate $1.1 billion contract between the Bombardier-Alstom consortium and the Société de transport de Montréal to supply the agency with 468 new metro cars, the plant will assemble more than 900 bogies.

Amtrak train in Calif. crash ran red light

The train hit another stopped Amtrak train head-on. Vehicles were on the same track, headed in opposite directions. Sixteen passengers suffered minor injuries.

FRA awards $336M for next-generation trains

Enables California, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Missouri to purchase next-generation, American-made trains. Trains will be designed to travel more than 110 mph along intercity passenger corridors.

Alstom to equip Algerian tramway system

Will provide a comprehensive service that includes a portion of the civil engineering, all the infrastructure (platform, rails, electrification, signaling, and ticketing), a workshop-depot and the central command post. Alstom also is supplying the fleet of 41 Citadis trainsets.

Alstom to overhaul Caltrans fleet

The contract, worth $13.1 million, includes the complete replacement of the door systems and upgrade of the wheelchair lifts, as well as the wreck repair of one car.
