NEWARK, N.J. — State Transportation Commissioner Jim Simpson is conducting a nationwide search for a deputy executive director to assist New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) Executive Director Jim Weinstein, according to The Star-Ledger.
The search began after the ill-fated decision by NJ Transit to leave trains in rail yards in Kearny and Hoboken that ended up underwater during Hurricane Sandy, causing $100 million in damage. Simpson said he has received about 40 resumes so far, and there was no timetable for when the position will be filled. For the full story, click here.
