Following elections, what's next for transportation?

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With Republicans seizing control of the Senate in Tuesday’s elections, StreetsBlog USA discussed the “immense” implications for transportation now that they have full control of both chambers of Congress.

One major focus is the prospects for a new transportation authorization bill when the current MAP-21 extension expires this spring. According to the report, Republicans’ dual control of Congress most likely closes the door for increased revenues and even makes it difficult for simply extending MAP-21 again.
