This contract comes on the heels of a project CCW completed in December 2015 for GTrans, in which one gasoline hybrid bus was converted to ZEPS technology.
After the ZEPS bus was delivered in late September, GTrans received a California Energy Commission grant to upgrade four more of its hybrid buses to electric.
Gardena Municipal Bus Lines had always been respected by its riders, but the agency wasn’t very well known within the larger community, which made attracting new riders a challenge. The solution? Rebranding the agency as GTrans.
Gardena Bus Lines says the new name, GTrans, is easier to say, with "G" representing its home city of Gardena, as well as the bus line's commitment to green, environmentally friendly initiatives.
