D.C. Metro unveils next-gen strategic plan

The plan, called Momentum, prioritizes items such as developing a next-generation communications infrastructure; acquiring additional railcars, power capacity and yard storage to operate all eight car trains during peak periods; and completing the Metrobus priority corridor network to serve more riders faster.

D.C. Metro opens new bus facility

The Shepherd Parkway Metrobus Division sits on 16 acres of land with space for up to 250 buses. Initially, it will house 114 Metrobuses that operate on 50 routes mainly in Southeast and Southwest Washington, D.C., providing better service for thousands of customers.

D.C. Metro to revamp bus stops

Proposed designs include designated locations for passengers to enter or exit the bus; accessible pathways for customers who use wheelchairs; new signs, maps and schedules; and seating and shelters.
