The five transit agencies serving King, Pierce and Snohomish counties in Washington have unveiled a “Yield to Buses” campaign. The campaign targets the issue of buses being allowed to pull back into traffic. State law requires that motorists allow a bus to merge back into traffic after a stop, but drivers often rush by, leading to accidents and service delays. The campaign joins Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit, Pierce Transit and Sound Transit to raise public awareness of the law. Outreach includes advertising on the backs of buses, radio public service announcements, posters and decals.
