Attendees of the American Bus Association's Bus Industry Safety Council began work on a set of industry "best practices" that will be distributed via the Internet. The council focused on two areas during its June meeting: the handling of equipment failures on the road and motorcoach emergency evacuation procedures for persons with disabilities. The latter will be developed in partnership with equipment manufacturers and disability organizations. When completed, the guildelines will be available at www.buses.org
