Chicago-area Pace Suburban Bus Service introduced eight new D4000 commuter coaches from Motor Coach Industries Inc. (MCI), which it plans to use on two of its longest suburban routes. The new 40-foot MCI D4000 wheelchair-lift-equipped commuter cruisers feature forward-facing, reclining seats for 49 passengers, overhead parcel racks and individual reading lights and airflow controls. In addition the D4000s are equipped with multiplex electrical systems, Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines and Allison B500 transmissions.
