The Montgomery (Ala.) Area Transit System (MATS) managed by First Transit, purchased eight new SLF 200 buses, which will be delivered in November. The 30-foot vehicles, manufactured by Thomas Dennis Company, will provide fixed-route transit services. The buses feature a unique low-floor design, with 42-inch-wide air-operated doors that open inward for added clearance. In addition, the full air ride suspension kneels to provide a first step of nine inches. MATS will add the SLFs to its current fleet of 52 buses. They will serve as replacement units for older buses.
