Paul M. Tellier, president and chief executive officer of Bombardier, announced this week the appointment of André Navarri as president of Bombardier Transportation. The appointment is effective Feb. 22, 2004.

Navarri was previously president of operations at Alcatel, and before that, chairman and CEO of Valeo SA, a large automotive component supplier.

The majority of his rail transportation experience comes from a 20-year career with Alstom, where he was president of the transportation division for three years.

"We selected Navarri following a rigorous process," said Tellier. "He has had extensive international experience and is known as an energizing leader. We are extremely pleased to welcome him to our team."
