A tour bus driver was killed when his vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer rig. Jerry Shackleford, a part-time driver for Holiday Tours in Randleman, N.C., was returning from Fort Bragg, where he had dropped off soldiers returning from Iraq, when the crash occurred. David Brown, president of Holiday Tours, told The Charlotte Observer that Shackleford had retired last year as a school bus driver and had been driving for his company since January. Brown added that the coach's maintenance records and Shackleford's driving records looked clean. "There's nothing to indicate what happened," he said.
