North American Bus Industries Inc. (NABI) received two contracts from new customers with a total value of nearly $9 million. The first new customer, Broward County Transit in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., awarded a $7.8-million contract to NABI for 25 40-foot low-floor diesel buses. NABI will begin delivery on this contract in 2005. In addition, Simi Valley (Calif.) Transit awarded NABI a contract to build two buses for $663,000. The CNG-powered 40-foot low-floor buses are projected to be delivered by year's end.
