Two separate rail accidents this week resulted in two deaths and a severe injury.

An Amtrak train struck and killed a man and seriously injured another in Rockville, Md., Tuesday at the height of the evening rush hour.

Meanwhile, a commuter train carrying 107 people crashed into a maintenance truck in Pompano Beach, Fla., Wednesday morning, killing the truck driver. No one onboard the train was seriously injured.
