The Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) has awarded New Flyer the CUTA National Transit Corporate Recognition Award for Safety at its 2005 Annual Conference in Gatineau, Québec.

The award was presented in recognition of New Flyer’s efforts to improve safety conditions for its employees.

Since 2002, New Flyer’s operations in Winnipeg, Manitoba, have experienced a 43% reduction in Workers Compensation Board claims and a 68% reduction in its loss time rate.

Between 2002 and April 2005, New Flyer’s St. Cloud, Minn., facility reduced claims by 38% and its loss time rate by 12%.

The company’s Crookston, Minn., facility also experienced an 84% reduction in its loss time rate since 2002.
