New York City Transit subways are implementing new restrictions on what riders can do on trains.

According to the Associated Press, riders will be forbidden from bringing coffee onboard or walking between cars when trains are moving. There will also be no sitting on bicycles or use of skateboards or roller skates inside the railcars.

The ban on coffee-drinking extends to any type of beverage in an open container, including alcohol.

Transit officials said the new rules, which will also carry fines for violators, are designed to increase safety. They take effect in October.
