The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) in Tampa, Fla., is offering interim jobs to transit workers displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Qualified transit workers who may be temporarily out of work because of the hurricane can apply for the following positions: bus operator, bus mechanic and mechanic apprentice, streetcar service attendant, custodian and facilities maintenance technician. HART Executive Director Ray Miller said he's trying to establish direct contact with his colleagues to make them aware of HART's willingness to help out. To apply for these jobs, call HART at (813) 623-5835. You may also fax your resume to (813) 626-9643 or e-mail it to jobs@hartline.org.
