New Flyer received an order for 50 CNG buses from the Orange County (Calif.) Transportation Authority (OCTA). The heavy-duty, 40-foot vehicles will be delivered in 2006, with options for 150 buses in 2007 and 177 in 2009. The 377 vehicles will feature New Flyer's redesigned styling, which also includes Allison transmissions, Digital Recorders voice-annunciation systems, Vansco multiplexing systems and Sportworks bike racks. OCTA's current fleet consists of 560 heavy-duty vehicles, of which 269 are New Flyer vehicles.
