The National Center for Transit Research at the University of South Florida has released a report that examines public transit travel, users and markets.

Topics analyzed include trends in demographics, vehicle ownership and personal travel between 1969 and 2001.

The report explores transit mode share trends, the extent of transferring, trip characteristics and market penetration.
