U.S. air marshals will team up with local law enforcement this week to test the effectiveness of boosting security on ground transportation. Air marshals, bomb-sniffing dogs and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspectors will be deployed on mass transit rail and bus systems in six cities across the nation, according to TSA officials. Testing will be conducted in Los Angeles, Washington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta and Houston. The program, which will run from December 13 to 18, is part of an overhaul of the TSA and Department of Homeland Security launched this year.
