CBS Outdoor, a division of CBS Corp., won an exclusive contract with the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) for bus shelter advertising.

The 15-year, multi-million dollar agreement includes the construction of new bus shelters throughout the county, with CBS gaining exclusive rights to advertising on those structures.

As part of the deal, CBS Outdoor will replace all of SamTrans’ existing 202 shelters over the next three years. New shelters will be equipped with seats, interior lights and a place to post SamTrans information.

CBS Outdoor also has a contract to advertise on the agency’s buses. Advertising has generated $11 million in revenue for San Mateo County over the last five years.
