FTA, Implicit PurchasePooling Solutions to recruit for pilot program

Posted on June 7, 2006

The FTA has chosen Implicit PurchasePooling Solutions LP to recruit public transit agencies to participate in a pilot program that will allow them to jointly procure either buses or light rail cars and be eligible for 90% federal funding. The pilot project is part of the FTA’s Cooperative Procurement Pilot Program (CPPP), which is intended to develop joint procurement practices for transit buses and other major capital equipment. Implicit PurchasePooling Solutions offers an Internet-based, capital procurement program that facilitates collaboration between agencies and enables them to keep their individual specs, terms and conditions intact, while taking advantage of larger volume discounts. For more information about the CPPP, visit www.transitpool.com.
