Parsons has received a contract to provide engineering design and construction support services for Phase 2 of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s (SEPTA) Smart Stations Project. As part of the contract, Parsons will provide voice, data and video communications; modernization of station communications infrastructure; and review of contractor submittals and testing programs at more than 30 stations. The Smart Stations Project is SEPTA’s plan to improve passenger safety and security, as well as ADA accessibility, on all subway and elevated stations throughout Philadelphia. The Phase 2 project, which is scheduled for completion in 2011, is the third major contract awarded to Parsons by SEPTA.
