Bombardier Transportation has won an order from the public transport authority in Palermo, Italy, for the delivery of 17 bi-directional FLEXITY Outlook trams and its CITYFLO 150 traffic management system. The agreement also includes a four-year contract for Bombardier to provide maintenance service. Delivery of the vehicles is scheduled for 2009. Based on modular technology developed by Bombardier, the FLEXITY Outlook tram features a 100% low-floor interior, as well as conventional wheel-set bogies that help improve riding behavior and increase passenger comfort. It also includes Bombardier’s MITRAC propulsion and control system, air conditioning and designated wheelchair areas.
