The Chicago Transit Authority awarded a construction management contract to Edwards and Kelcey (EK) to oversee the installation of new signaling systems for its Blue Line and Loop Elevated Line, as well as the replacement of traction power cabling in both the Blue and Red Line subways. Under the terms of the agreement, EK will perform several services, including project management, resident engineering, document control, quality assurance/quality control and safety inspection.

The work is expected to extend more than three years and is part of a $230 million upgrade project on the three lines.
