Victor Kolako, the operator involved in the fatal Metrobus accident in northwest Washington, D.C., last month, has been terminated from his position as of this week. Kolako, who was placed on administrative leave following the accident, had been a Metrobus operator since 2000. On Feb. 14, Kolako fatally struck two women as he turned left onto Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, from Seventh Street, NW. Kolako appeared in D.C. Superior Court last week and is facing charges of negligent homicide. His trial is scheduled to begin on June 8.
