ISE to equip B.C. fuel cell buses

A team comprised of New Flyer Industries, ISE Corporation and Ballard Power Systems Inc. has been selected by BC Transit to supply 20 hydrogen hybrid fuel cell buses to be put in regular revenue service in Whistler, B.C.

With assistance from the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada, BC Transit will acquire and put in operation the 20 fuel cell buses and the hydrogen infrastructure to support them.

Under the contract, ISE will supply the ThunderVolt hybrid fuel cell drive systems with Siemens electric drive components, Ballard 150 kW fuel cell, and ISE proprietary hybrid technology and controls.
