Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) of North Carolina placed an order for five Orion VII Next Generation clean diesel transit buses from DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America (DCCBNA) for its Express Bus Service.
The Orion VII Next Generation, introduced in 2007, has a new European-inspired exterior design and an improved ergonomic driver area.
The latest bus model also features a cleaner, more efficient diesel engine, with an 80 percent improvement in particulate matter and a 50 percent improvement in NOx emissions compared with its 2002 predecessor.
