The University of Kansas has purchased 28 environmentally friendly, wheelchair accessible Gillig-manufactured buses from Transit Sales International for its new service, “KU on Wheels."

The new service runs 12 daily bus routes when classes are in session, providing transportation for students to and from class. Along with the completely renovated buses, orientation and aftercare support was provided for the operation transition.

Transit Sales International’s customer service department also supplied hands-on training to the drivers and mechanics. Riverside, Calif.-based Transit Sales International is the largest distributor of pre-owned transit-style buses.
