The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada awarded Veolia Transportation a two-year contract in Las Vegas.

The new contract, which begins April 6, includes fixed-route services for Citizens Area Transit, MAX bus rapid transit service and Deuce service along the Las Vegas strip. On behalf of the RTC, Veolia operates 350 vehicles, services 48 routes and employs 1,200 people.

Approximately 200,000 passengers are transported each weekday — more than 60 million annually, up from just 15 million when the service began in 1993.
