Dresden, Germany-based Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG (DVB) ordered eleven more trams from the Bombardier Flexity Classic family.

The current order is based on a framework agreement signed in 2000 and is valued at around $53 million USD. It is part of the replacement of the Dresden tram fleet with modern, low-floor vehicles. The new five-car low-floor provide capacity for 260 passengers.

The vehicles are expected to be delivered between July 2009 and May 2010, bringing the fleet to a total of 83 trams. DVB previously ordered ten vehicles in January 2007.
