Veolia wins Georgia fixed route contract

The City of Hinesville awarded Veolia Transportation a fixed route contract for service beginning December 1, 2008.

The recently created Hinesville Transit will serve the cities of Flemington and Hinesville and the military base at Fort Stewart, providing transportation to major shopping, work and health care activity centers. Hinesville is located roughly 30 miles from Savannah, Ga.

The City of Hinesville plans to purchase seven 20-passenger cutaway vans. Veolia Transportation will manage and operate under the contract which has a three-year base with a two-year option.
